-
In this lesson, we’ll talk about whether or not you need a theme, how to choose a good one, and put a plan in place to get your art ready for the calendar.
-
This lesson is all about how to find good suppliers, and the questions you need to ask to make sure you've covered all bases for design and pricing before choosing one.
-
We're going to get out our calculators in lesson 3. Using the print quotes from our suppliers and a bit of market research, we are going to figure out the sweet spot for pricing our calendars for profit!
-
Ok, let’s get into the fun part - it's time to design your calendar! In this lesson Lawz will take you through how to customise the Canva templates she's created, and prepare your artwork for print.
-
In lesson 5 we're going to make a plan on how to actually sell your calendars using Lawz' proven pre-sale method, as well as how to get stocked in shops.
-
We're wrapping it all up with a neat little bow in lesson 6, where we talk about how to package and send your calendars, including the best system I've found to pack LOTS of pre-orders without feeling overwhelmed!

WHAT MY STUDENTS SAY
This course is for artists who want to create a calendar from their artwork. You’ll be guided through the entire process - from choosing your theme and designing your calendar, to pricing, printing and selling, using Lawz’ proven method that has helped her, and her students successfully launch their own calendars.
OH, HEY THERE!
I’m Laura Holley, the creative mind behind Lawz Drawz, where I bring Melbourne’s most iconic venues to life through illustration. One of the biggest turning points in my business came when I launched my first calendar. I wasn’t sure how it would be received, but thought I should be able to sell around 100. Instead, I sold 800 - and I’ve since made over $100,000 from calendars alone.
Alongside calendars, I’ve built multiple income streams, selling my art and products online, at markets and through wholesale partnerships, as well as running in-person workshops, illustrating for brand collabs and licensing…and my passion is helping artists diversify their income YEAR ROUND so they can bring in consistent, scalable sales and get off the income roller coaster for good.
FAQs
-
This mini course is for artists and illustrators who want to make their own calendars.
You might already have a creative business and a collection of artwork, but you're not sure where to start with turning it into a calendar. Or perhaps you've been thinking, "I'll make one next year" for the last few years and are finally ready to do something about it!
I'll walk you through the process from start to finish - from choosing your concept and preparing your artwork to getting quotes, pricing, printing, selling, packaging and sending your calendars.
You don't need to have everything figured out, but you should have some artwork (or an idea for the artwork) that could be turned into a calendar and be ready to actually make it happen.
-
You’ll learn all the steps you need to create a calendar from your artwork
Selecting a theme
Finding and working with suppliers
How to price your calendar
How to sell your calendar
-
The mini course is made up of 8 short video lessons, along with templates and actionable steps and is designed to fit into your busy life.
If you have your artwork ready to go, and follow the process, your calendar could be ready for pre-sale within a week!
-
Not at all. If you’ve got a creative practice you’re good to go. A website and social media will be helpful when it comes to selling your calendars, but they are not the only avenues! This course is here to help you build on what you’re already growing, and to start creating products from your art.
-
That’s totally fine. A website is great for any artist to have, but there are other ways to sell your calendars if you don’t have one yet.
-
You’ll have everything you need to create and launch your own calendar with confidence.
You’ll also have 12 months access to the mini course, so you can come back and revisit the lessons when you need to. And because calendars are an annual product, you can use the same process again every year as you create your next calendar.
